Last week I began a 3-part Mango Series here on A Skinny Dish. Along with a deliciously healthy Coconut-crusted Tofu w/ Mango Salsa recipe post, I listed out a number of health benefits which should have convinced you to stock up on some Mangos now while they’re in season.

As I too had mentioned, summer is quickly approaching and with the blistering heat, an icy refresher is always welcomed. For those not familiar, Lassi is a popular yoghurt-based drink traditional to India & Pakistan – made either sweet or savoury. While the recipe I’m sharing today is scrumptiously sweet (my personally preferred version), it’s packed with vitamin C, natural antiseptic & antibacterial agents to help you fend off potential summer colds & flus. Mango Immunity Lassi

Recipe Type: smoothie, gluten free, vegan, refined sugar free, dairy free (option), low fat


Serves: 2 (regular glasses)


  • 1 Mango (preferably Alphonso)
  • 1 cup fat-free plain Yoghurt (Soy or Coconut yoghurt if dairy-free/vegan or Paleo)
  • 1 cup Almond Milk
  • 1/2 tsp ground Turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp Camu Camu powder
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla paste
  • A squeeze of Lemon
  • Handful of Ice cubes
  • Additional Sweetener of Choice such honey, agave, maple syrup etc… (optional, according to taste)
  • crushed Pistachios & crushed Cardamom seeds (for topping)


  1. Place all ingredients except for ground pistachios & cardamom seeds into a high speed blender. Blend well.
  2. Pour into serving glass, sprinkle with crushed pistachios & crushed cardamom seeds. Serve immediately.
