Mayonnaise has got to be one of my favourite condiments ever. Most likely one of yours too right? It never fails to add that extra oomph to a sandwich – well along with an additional 100kcals with 11g of fat per serving (1 tbsp) unfortunately. Jennifer Aniston once revealed that she had to give up this delicious creamy spread – which to her is the most delicious thing in the world – to get the body she got.
Commercial mayonnaise is usually made with unhealthy fats and offers very little nutrition. Low-fat or fat-free options are NOT any healthier as they often contain additives and a lot more sugar to compensate for the lack of flavour. Well, the good news is, you don’t have to give it up because I’ve given mayo a magical makeover making it both healthy & skinny. It’s packed with protein yet egg-free, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, low in carbs and fat! It is of course free of additives and tastes better than the processed ones – even Kewpie (a Japanese mayonnaise which by the way contains MSG) in my opinion!
